Frankenstein: movie vs. book

Image result for frankenstein

Overall Frankenstein is a good story. However the book and the movie have many changes/differences.

The movie added and cut off many important scenes from the book. For example in the book  Victor and Elizabeth get to talk to and about Justine, however in the movie that scene is not showed complete, in the movie Victor and Elizabeth only get to see Justine death, which it doesn’t show the strong bond that Victor and Elizabeth have with Justine, which makes Justine seemed like a less considerable in the family.

In the book, when VIctor brings the monster to life and sees how ugly he is, Victor leaves and doesn’t even talk to the creature, but in the movie, when Victor is creating the creature he is not alone like in the book, but he has company, his friend, Victor also speaks to the creature but Victor and his friend mistaken the creature’s fear to the torch and think that the creature is evil, which all the regrets the creature receives from everyone, turns him into a evil murderer.

Also in the book Victors motivation to study is the tree being struck by lightning, but in the movie Victor’s motivation is his mother. In the movie, desperate Elizabeth visits Victor but in the book, Elizabeth stays in Geneva the whole time. All this scene differences, changes the setting of the story, and it can change the point of view of the readers.
